Overview:
Following from engagements with different industry stakeholders, the professional supply chain space, and other key supply chain stakeholders in the country and continent, there has been growing consensus that the practice of supply chain is fraught with deficiencies and problems including but not limited to non-compliance to supply chain management (SCM) regulatory and policy frameworks, out-dated SCM systems and delegations, lack of demand management, inadequate procurement planning, lack of monitoring and evaluation, poor contract management, lack of standardisation, inadequate record keeping and SCM structures. There is a dire need for a postgraduate qualification in SCM which can address existing deficiencies.
